The Repeater Project

This project is charged with the responsibility of managing the refurbishment of the "new" donated repeater, the fitting of the new controller to that repeater, and the eventual replacement of the existing repeater setup with this new one.

This activity will be coordinated with the Trustee so as to have the controller's control-codes properly planned and published to the control operators.

Once the new repeater is in place, this group will, perhaps, then refurbish the "old" repeater.

This page will be used to keep the club membership apprised of this project's plans.

Each project needs a plan; this is the general task plan for this project, as outlined by the technical committee in FEB-2007.

Progress reports:
  • 16-JAN-2007, took possession of the donated Motorola MSR2000 base station.
  • 19-APR-2007, an evaluation of the MSR2000 shows it to be in overall good shape. The power amplifier does not put out full power; it remains to be seen if this will be correctable with adjustments, or if a replacement amp will be required. The crystals (channel elements) are being sent out for recutting. The radio is being moved to a larger cabinet to support the repeater controller.
  • 17-JUN-2007, the crystals have been reworked and returned to us.
